Appeal Following Two Robberies in Huddersfield Park

Police are appealing for information following two attempted robberies in a Huddersfield Park.

The Kirklees District Crime Team is investigating and appealing for witnesses following two linked incidents in Greenhead Park on Monday June 17, in which a suspect threatened victims.

The first took place at 6pm when a male victim was approached by a man as he walked close to the shelter near Trinity Street.

The suspect attempted to steal the victim’s rucksack but then walked away after another member of the public intervened.

A few minutes later two male victims were appeached by a man while they were walking near the Trinity Street gates.  

The male, who had been in the shelter, produced a knife and demanded their property.  

A group of passers-by approached and intervened however, resulting in the suspect giving up on the attempt.

Detectives are linking the offences and would like to speak to anyone who saw or has footage of the suspect.

He is described as of dual heritage, in his late teens to mid-twenties, around 5’9’’ and of medium build.

The suspect was wearing black clothing and a bandana on his head, he also had a mask covering the lower part of his face.
