Emergency services called to multi-vehicle crash on A2, near Bean Interchange

A five-vehicle crash on the A2 sparked queues of traffic stretching more than four miles.

The London-bound carriageway was partially blocked between the Northfleet and Ebbsfleet turn-off and the Bean Interchange following the accident shortly before 11.30am.

There was a large emergency services presence at the scene, including fire crews and paramedics.

The crash triggered heavy congestion and delays of up to 30 minutes.

All lanes had reopened by 1.30pm after the vehicles were recovered.

A police spokesman said the collision was reported at 11.25am.

He added: “It involved five vehicles. There are not believed to be any serious injuries.”
