A car has been left badly damaged after smashing into a lamppost.

Police were called to the incident in Bucksford Lane in Singleton, Ashford, just before 9pm yesterday.

Pictures taken this morning show a red Peugeot 207 with heavy damage to its front driver’s side.

A police spokeswoman said officers attended the scene and worked to clear debris from the road.

There were no reported injuries and the road remained open following the incident, which happened at the junction with Tithe Barn Lane.
