A suspect has been charged with murder following the death of a man who was allegedly assaulted.

Police were called to an altercation in Station Road in Birchington at 1.49pm on Saturday, March 9.

A man in his 40s was taken to a London hospital, where he died on Monday, April 15.

Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating and previously charged Rashko Kurtev, 31, with causing grievous bodily harm.

Yesterday (Friday, June 14), Kurtev, of Park Avenue, Birchington, was further charged with murder in relation to the incident.

He appeared before Folkestone Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday) and was remanded in custody to appear at Maidstone Crown Court this Tuesday.
