William and Kate set for royal visit to Rome in first official trip abroad in new roles
WILLIAM and Kate are set for a royal visit to Rome in the spring.
It will be the couple’s first trip abroad on behalf of the Government as the new Prince and Princess of Wales.
Kensington Palace has not officially announced the trip, but sources said it was “pencilled in”.
It is unclear whether they will meet with Pope Francis at the Vatican, but it is still “very much on the table”.
Tonight, a Kensington Palace spokesman said: “We look forward to announcing the Prince and Princess’s travel plans in due course.”
Their last official Government trip was to the Caribbean in March 2022.
