A woman has been arrested on suspicion of trespassing on the railway.

British Transport Police attended after reports of a woman on the tracks in Chatham.

Officers managed to get the woman to leave the tracks and then arrested her.

She remains in police custody.

Southeastern said trains were halted for a short while, as the electric current had to be switched off while the trespasser was on the line.
