Viewers will once again travel with red team captain Jamie Redknapp and blue team captain Jill Scott as they go head-to-head with Micah Richards, Mo Gilligan, and Maisie Adam and take on a number of epic and fun sporting challenges along the way.

The forthcoming season of A League of Their Own: Mexican Road Trip will drop weekly episodes from Tuesday, May 21.

Fans of the show are promised a thrill ride across Mexico as the cast take on activities and challenges with hilarious results.

The five stars will participate in the world-famous Day of the Dead parade, shoot penalties in front of sixty thousand passionate football fans at C.D. Guadalajara, fight fair at a unique Lucha Libre wrestling event, scuba-dive with sea lions, and much, much more.

When the results are finally in, and the games are over, viewers at home will see the ‘loser’ take part in a terrifying forfeit – a giant bungee swing across the desert canyon.

A League of Their Own: Mexican Road Trip was commissioned by Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content for Sky UK and Ireland and Phil Edgar-Jones, Director, Sky Arts and Entertainment.

The hit show started in 2010 and kicked off with an hour-long special featuring world heavyweight boxing champion David Haye and the voice of Bob the Builder and man behaving badly, Neil Morrissey.

It started off as a panel show, which James Corden helmed.

Since its debut over a decade ago, the show has gone from strength to strength.

After season 10, it morphed into a travel series in 2016.

At the time, James flew Jamie, Jack Whitehall, and Freddie Flintoff to America for an adventure of a lifetime.

The jet-lagged lads hit the bowling alley and took to the field in front of a packed-out crowd at an Oakland Raiders game.

Since then, viewers have witnessed the stars on the show travelling around the world, including Europe and Asia.

Last year, the Masked Singer judge and Brits host Mo joined the Sky series as a panellist on Jamie’s red team.

At the time of the cast announcement, a TV insider said: “Mo is one of the most in-demand stars on telly, so it’s a real coup by Sky.

“He’s been on the show previously and gets some big laughs, so bosses expect more of the same for this year’s series.”

Speaking about his latest gig, Mo said: “I love this show. I always have. It’s good people and good vibes.

“When Sky asked if I’d consider joining the team, there was no question in my mind. It was an immediate yes. I’m here for it all!”

A League of Their Own: Mexican Road Trip airs weekly on Sky Max and streaming service NOW from Tuesday, May 21.
