In the business’s planning and retail statement a spokesman confirmed the company is seeking full planning permission for an extension to the mezzanine floor within its existing store.

They said: “The site would be used for the purposes of retail sales and a customer café.

“The site is within an area which is an established retail destination. The proposed development will complement existing facilities and aid the retention of Dunelm within the Retail Park.”

Dunelm believes its proposals are not of a scale where they could impact other businesses nearby.

The Retail Park comprises of nine retail units in addition to two drive thru’s. Occupiers include M&S, Homebase, Tapi Carpets and Dunelm.
