Huddersfield Man Jailed For Robbery

A prolific Huddersfield criminal has been jailed for a catalogue of serious crime including robbery.  

Greg Dolan (41) from Huddersfield was sentenced to three years in prison at Leeds Crown Court on May 1 for a range of serious offences including robbery, burglary, fraud and possession of Class A drugs.  

He was described as a prolific criminal by detectives, who said it was good news for communities that he would be off the of Kirklees for a substantial period of time.  

Leeds Crown Court heard that the 41-year-old and a female suspect had stopped a victim driving on Bradford Road in Huddersfield on 20 January 2023 after the female waved the driver down.  

Dolan then punched the victim several times through the open window. The female then grabbed his phone and bank card which was used at a nearby cash card.  

In other offending he broke into a flat in Huddersfield in January 2023 and stole bank cards which were then used in local shops.  

Detective Constable Lewis of the Kirklees District Crime Team, said: “Dolan is a prolific criminal and it is good news for communities that he has been taken off our streets.  

“Being a victim of crime can have a dreadful impact on those targeted by offenders like Dolan and his offending  

“The robbery victim in particular was very shaken by his ordeal and said he now feels scared if he has to go back to the area where he was attacked.”  

He added: “The district crime team continues to investigate a number of such serious offences and we continue to urge anyone who is a victim of crime to report offending to West Yorkshire Police or anonymously to the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
