Two lanes are closed on the M20 following a crash and oil spill.

The westbound carriageway was shut at around 6am this morning (March 31) between junction 4 for Leybourne and junction 2 for Wrotham due to the incident.

Police officers and paramedics were called to the scene.

By around 7.40am two lanes had reopened but two remained closed due to the oil spillage and debris.

One lane is also shut on the eastbound carriageway to allow the emergency services to work safely at the scene.

The closures will be in place until emergency resurfacing works are complete which will start overnight.

There are no significant delays in the area, according to National Highways.

Motorists were being diverted along the A228 and the A20.
