Pensioner suffers serious injuries after being hit by Audi in Cliftonville, Margate

A pensioner is in hospital with serious injuries following a crash which has prompted a police witness appeal.

Officers were called to Northdown Road in Cliftonville following reports an Audi hit a person at 11.10am,

Police attended with paramedics and the air ambulance while the main road was shut.

A man in his 70s was taken to a London hospital with serious injuries following the incident involving a grey Audi.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and has since been bailed pending further enquiries.
