Each ticket was worth £30,000, with a total of £150,000 being won in the postcode area.

Justine White, 49, was one of the lucky winners and revealed what she planned to do with the cash.

“I want a posh new kettle,” she said. “A nice Dualit one to match my toaster.”

She excitedly joked: “You should have seen me when I got my toaster!”

As well as the new kitchen appliance for herself, Justine also said she would treat her family with her win.

She said: “My daughter got engaged this summer.

“Part of that will be a little nest egg for her when her and her fiancé set up home.”

Other winners included Tracey Nolan, 54, who came out to see what was happening when she spotted the camera crew on her street.

She said: “I came out to be nosy.”

Knowing she played the Postcode Lottery herself, she said she wondered why no one was knocking on her door.

When she saw the team also had a cheque for her, she said: “That’s life changing for me.”

She said she is looking forward to a very special family Christmas and a treat for herself afterwards.

“I’d love to go up in a helicopter,” she added.

Also winning was retired Charles Streete, 66, who had been playing the lottery for many years.

He said he liked to play because of the way it helps good causes.

He said: “I’ve just enjoyed doing it. You’ve got to help people out because otherwise, what are you here for.”

Of his win, he said: “It means I can help some of the family out.”

Danyl Johnson said: “It was a fantastic day surprising the winners with our £30,000 Sunday prize.

“I hope they all get the chance to celebrate together with a street party!”

The Gillingham win is the latest in Kent in just a few days.

In Deal a couple who moved to the area “on a whim” won a staggering £392,000, a share of the £11.2 million handed out to residents of London Road in the town last week.

And 10 residents in Shepherd’s Gate, Hempstead, just four miles away from Leet Close, took home £83,333 in prize money.

The win for that postcode was revealed on Saturday.
