The A28 Canterbury Road is closed in both directions after a crash in which a car overturned.

KCC Highways reported the incident between Sarre and St Nicholas at Wade at around 4.45pm, stating police had been called to the scene.

The road remains closed this evening, causing heavy congestion in the area.

Drivers are warned to approach with caution and expect delays.

The incident has also affected Stagecoach bus services 8 and 8A which are diverting via Ramsgate Road and the A299.

It is not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured.
