Three sheep have been killed and others were injured in a dog attack.

The animal was seen attacking the livestock in a field next to Ashenbank Woods, Halfpence Lane, Cobham, near Gravesend, at about 9.20am on Monday, May 6.

Three ewes suffered fatal injuries and others needed treatment for their wounds.

Police are appealing for information to trace the owner of the dog, described as a large black and white spaniel.

A search of the area was unsuccessful.

PC Nathan Colman said: “This was a very distressing incident and an investigation is under way to identify the person who should have been in control of the dog at the time.

“Offences of this kind also have a significant impact on farmers, particularly during the lambing season.

“I urge anyone who has information that could assist our enquiries to contact us.”
