Two men have been sentenced for a shooting which happened in Bradford.

Nathan Scott 32 and Tommy Lupton 20 admitted firearms offences and a section 18 wounding assault.

It’s after a shooting where a double-barrelled shotgun was used towards two people on Farleton Drive, Fagley, on 7 July 2023.

One man received a minor injury and was released from hospital, however the other male victim has remained in hospital since the incident and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Appearing before Bradford Crown Court for sentencing today, Scott, of Farm Hill Road, Bradford, was jailed for 16 years and six months. Lupton, of Flawith Drive, Bradford, was jailed for eight years and three months.

Detective Chief Inspector Guy Shackleton of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team said:

“We welcome the sentence handed down to Scott and Lupton today for this targeted attack.

“This was an extremely serious incident in which a man is still critically ill in hospital.

“Firearms have no place on our streets, and we work with our partners across West Yorkshire to educate people on the dangers of carrying illegal weapons.

“The criminal use of firearms is an issue that causes understandable concern in our communities, and I hope people can take some reassurance from knowing we have imprisoned those who use illegally held firearms.

“For the victim in this case he has suffered serious injuries, and his life has been changed forever. I hope that today’s sentence can bring him and his family some justice in knowing that two men have been sentenced for their crimes.”
