This Morning is one of the mainstays of daytime television – with Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield there to entertain and fill us in on current events from the comfort of their London studio.

However, starting from December 21, the show will not be on air.

So where’s it gone and when will it be back?

Here’s everything you need to know about the missing favourite.

Why is This Morning not on today?

This Morning has finished for the year, and will now be replaced by Supermarket Sweep repeats for the rest of the week.

The team rounded off the show in style though, performing a special This Morning pantomime in honour of the festive season.

Holly became Cinderella, while Phil became her sidekick buttons, with Alison Hammond as the fairy godmother.

Together they all went on a mission around the studio to find her Holly’s missing shoe, running into panto dames, Sheridan Smith, and a host of regular faces in the process.

When will This Morning return?

For those of you wanting your This Morning fix, don’t worry – as the team will be back on Christmas Day for a one-off festive special.

It’s been confirmed that This Morning will then return on January 4, 2021.

The week will also see Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond become the official Friday presenters, taking over from Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

Ruth and Eamonn will still be present though, and will take over for Holly and Phil when they are on their breaks.

On their final episode on December 18, the couple urged viewers to be nice to Alison and Dermot in their new positions.

Eamonn said: ‘Please we would ask you to be as nice and lovely to them, friends of ours as they are – and we’re very close to Alison – as you have been to us for the past 15 years.’

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
