Three people have been killed and a further six people have been injured in a school shooting on Tuesday at Oxford High School in Suburban Detroit.

The suspected shooter is aged believed to be a 15-year-old sophomore teenage boy he is currently in custody with his identity currently protected.

A handgun was located at the scene shortly after the shooter was taken into custody.

Footage from inside the school has been released on social media platform Twitter.

Sadly three people have been they are all students, at this time their identities have not been released.

Police received a 911 call reporting an active shooter inside the school before 1pm. More than a hundred calls came into the dispatch to report the incident.

With the shooter being taken into police custody within five minutes of the first call to them. During the incident the suspect fired multiple shots resulting in multiple victims.

When police approached the suspect he did not give officers any resistance.

Of the six people injured five are believed to be students and one a teacher.

The suspect fired between 15 to 20 shots before he was taken into custody.
