A year later, her former partner, Ben Lacomba, was found guilty of her murder.

However, the mum-of-five’s body has never been found.

A post on the official Search For Sarah Wellgreen Facebook page says: “Today we remember Sarah Wellgreen who disappeared overnight on October 9, 2018.

“Four years ago, Sarah was seen on CCTV entering her home in the rural village of New Ash Green, Kent, but has never been seen since.

“Despite a full investigation, years of searching local areas and a conviction of murder, Sarah cannot be laid to rest by her family as her body has never been found.

“The search isn’t over and we continue to welcome any new leads or additional information that may not have yet been disclosed.

“It could just be the final missing piece of the puzzle.

“With love to Sarah’s family at this extremely difficult time. Someone knows something.”

Since her disappearance a documentary was made in the hope that new light would be shone on the murder and help draw more people into the hunt to find her body.

Among those interviewed as part of the 5 Star channel programme, My Lover My Killer, were members of the Search For Sarah Wellgreen group.

Team leader Sharon Brine has been dedicated to the search since the initial weeks after her disappearance, when it was still hoped Sarah might be found alive.

And while those hopes have long since been dashed, she remains committed to finding the mum and helping to bring some sense of closure to Sarah’s family.

In October 2020, police confirmed their ongoing efforts to find her had come to an end.

But, at the time, Sarah’s mother Anne Reid said the family would never be able to move on until she was found.

“Some days are a real struggle,” she said. “I find it hard to believe that Sarah has not been found as he’s not that clever and every time the phone rings my heart lurches as I think ‘is this the call?’
